Al very kindly offered to help get the kite up, and checked my setting up too. After a false start we got it flying and I skipped gingerly into the drink...

Had a good 15 mins or so body dragging, jolly good fun, although I'm still being very conservative with the kite movements.

The kite came down on the water and I couldn't get the dam thing to relaunch. Every time it tried to take off it would crash down again... I'm finding this kite very hard to control compared to the ones I used before.

Eventually I was drifting too close to some fishermen so decided to take the leash, let go, and do a bar packdown. Except I couldn't do as I'd learned as either the ball attachment system was back to front/upside down or just plain wierd. So I went back to the bar...only now all the lines had wrapped around it and I had no control whatsoever over the b*****d kite. Mental note to self - BUY KNIFE!

I was totally stuck, didn't know what to do next, but luckily a kind fisherman came over and sat on the kite so I could run over and make it safe.

Totally crap again, but I guess it's a learning process.
